Member Alert! UPDATE Temporary injunction filed against Paid Sick Leave implementation date

Posted By: Allison P. Cohen Industry ,

This is an update on the San Antonio Paid Sick Leave Ordinance – now called the Safe and Sick Leave Ordinance.

On Friday November 23rd, District Judge Peter Sakai, who is overseeing the lawsuit against the Safe and Sick Leave Ordinance, filed a temporary injunction delaying the December 1st effective date of the sick and safe leave requirements.  The delay is not permanent, but it will halt the implementation of the ordinance while the court case proceeds.  Attorneys from both sides have been asked to work out scheduling a court date to hear the case.

As we are informed of the progress of the Safe and Sick Leave Ordinance, the San Antonio Apartment Association will provide you with updates.  If you have any questions or concerns about the Paid Sick Leave Ordinance, please contact members of our government relations team.
